Sunday vibes at The Leslieville Flea are a mark of summer in the neighbourhood. And it all starts this weekend.
Heading into its fifth season, The Leslieville Flea is making a return this summer at two locations: the beautiful sprawling lawns of Ashbridge Estate, which kicks off June 11, and in the main square at the Distillery starting June 17.
"The June 11 flea will feature 70-plus vendors bringing with them the very best of vintage, upcycled and handcrafted items," Roberts says. "We now also have live music, free yoga classes, ice cream — even volunteer clothing menders. It's local, free, green and an east-end favourite."
What started out as a small setup in the parking lot behind The Duke (remember?) has evolved into a full-fledged, impeccably curated marketplace for salvaged wares, furniture, collectibles and handcrafted goods.
Run by organizers Chris Roberts and Brigid Elmy, the monthly market will be at Leslieville's historic outdoor grounds the second Sunday of each month from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. through October. The Distillery edition takes place the third Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. through August. Admission is free.
