Riverside Winefest mixes local food, wine and shopping in Toronto's east end

Riverside Winefest

Wining, dining, shopping — some things in life were just meant to be together. That's why Riverside BIA is putting out an open invitiation for wine lovers, foodies and shopaholics to come hang out in the neighbourhood for Riverside Winefest happening April 4 to 9.

Showcasing local food, Ontario wines and the independent shops of Riverside, the annual Winefest is a week-long affair featuring free wine tasting events, prix-fixe dinners focused on wine pairings and a free wine expo at Ralph Thornton Centre on April 8 with cooking demos, live music and, of course, wine tastings.

"Winefest is your chance to experience an Ontario wine tour in your backyard," says Jennifer Lay, marketing director of Riverside BIA. "The event is a full week of wine dinners and special offerings with local restaurants and Ontario wineries in which you can get to know Riverside business owners, learn about and taste excellent wines and and a variety of exquisite foods from the neighbourhood."

Winefest is set to feature more than 10 Ontario wineries from Prince Edward County to Niagara. A few of the highlights include a Cave Springs Cellars wine pairing dinner at Tabule, a Rosehall Run wine pairing dinner at Il Ponte and a sparkling wine brunch at Sugar Loaf Bakery.

Tastings throughout the week will be featured at The Arts Market, Brika, Oma Chiropractic and the Queen & Saulter Library among others.

Please visit Winefest on Riverside BIA's website for more details on the event and to RSVP for the various tastings and events.
