The hot, sticky weather was welcome after the dragged-out cool temperatures and rain this spring, and now some of Toronto's outdoor pools will be opening early this summer.
The pool at Riverdale Park East is one of 10 outdoor pools set to open ahead of schedule on June 17.
All 58 outdoor pools and 104 wading pools in Toronto will become operational on June 24 in the evenings and on weekends. All pools begin their full-time summer schedules on June 30 and will remain open with varying schedules until Labour Day weekend.
At that time, local pools at Greenwood Park, Monarch Park, Woodbine Beach Park, as well as wading pools at Leslie Grove Park, Hideaway Park and Morse Street Playground will be filled and in full swing.
More information on outdoor pools, wading pools and splash pads in operation this summer, including maps, locations, schedules and programs can be found on the City of Toronto's website.
