Could a massive expansion in the Port Lands create the world's largest nightclub?
That's the rumour after Powerhouse, the owner behind Rebel and Cabana Pool Bar on Toronto's waterfront, applied for a new liquor licence that would more than double the capacity of the entertainment complex.
According to CBC, the application from Powerhouse Corp. calls for a capacity of more than 15,000 — 7,584 indoors with another 7,971 on patios. The club's currently limited to 3,163 people inside and 2,510 outside.
It's remains to be seen how this plays out as it's scheduled to be reviewed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario on Feb. 9.
